Freedom Rising is proud to announce our partnership with Human Trafficking Now to develop an innovative, interactive database designed to help victims of human trafficking connect with the right support for their unique situations. Whether someone is seeking emergency shelter, legal aid, counseling, or long-term care, this tool will provide a simple, accessible way for victims to find verified organizations that are ready and able to help—both domestically and internationally. Too often, those in desperate need are left sifting through outdated directories or waiting on responses that never come. Our goal is to eliminate those barriers and make it as easy as possible for survivors to break free from the cycle of exploitation and find a path to safety, hope, and healing.
We are also proud to announce that Freedom Rising is now working with Empowerment Now to strengthen the impact of our programs and begin expanding into new areas and countries where aftercare services for trafficking survivors are desperately lacking. Far too often, children rescued from trafficking networks are placed in overwhelmed government shelters without the support and protection they truly need—leaving them vulnerable to being re-trafficked. Our partnership with Empowerment Now will help change that. Together, we are committed to creating high-quality, trauma-informed aftercare programs that offer safety, healing, and long-term empowerment. How does this happen?
A community brothel is a large, often government-tolerated red-light district where multiple generations of women live and work in the sex trade. These brothels are not just places of exploitation but entire communities where women—many of whom were trafficked as children—are trapped in cycles of abuse, poverty, and systemic neglect. In places like Daulatdia, Bangladesh, one of the largest brothel districts in the world, thousands of women are forced into sex work, and their children grow up in an environment where exploitation is normalized.
